TO INCLEMENT WEATHER**
2011 has just begun and already Downtown Cleveland has had some
breakthrough developments. Construction has begun on the
much-anticipated Medical Mart, Convention Center and East Flats
projects. Tremendous opportunities are open to Cleveland and other
downtowns throughout the country; however, several challenges are
also on the horizon. How do cities like Cleveland take advantage of
the opportunities and address challenges over the next several
years? What are other cities across the country doing to thrive?
How should city and state policy work to further to the growth of
our cities?
A panel of downtown experts will discuss these questions along
with city development, its impact and ways to ensure economic
health at Downtown Cleveland Alliance's (DCA) annual State
of Downtown panel discussion at noon, Feb. 2 at The City Club
of Cleveland. DCA President and CEO Joe Marinucci will be joined by
downtown development veteran and former chair of the International Downtown
Association David Feehan, and president and CEO of the Pittsburgh Downtown
Partnership Michael Edwards. Dan Moulthrop, Curator of
Conversation for Civic
Commons, will moderate.
