A native of Youngstown, Kari Mirkin moved to Cleveland in 2006
to pursue a Master in Nonprofit Organizations degree at Case
Western Reserve University's Mandel Center for Nonprofit
Organizations. She currently lives in Cleveland's Warehouse
District and works as Program Associate at the Foundation Center's
Cleveland field office, also located downtown. Her commitment to
improving Cleveland's nonprofit community and advocating for
nonprofit workers led her to play a leading role in launching the
local chapter of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN).
Her role with YNPN involves planning educational and social events
aimed at developing future nonprofit leaders in the region and
promoting nonprofit work as a viable career choice.
In addition to her activities in the nonprofit sector, Kari
currently serves as the Executive Vice President of the Cleveland
Area Alumni Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, an honor society
recognizing academic achievement in business studies. She is an
active member of the Alumni Association of Lafayette College, from
which she graduated with honors in German Studies and History, and
is a charter member of the PlayhouseSquare Toastmasters club.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Kari enjoys jogging, cooking,
and attending festivals and other special events going on in and
around downtown Cleveland.
