Small Business Spotlight: Nosotros

With the mission statement, Our Rock Holds Help Households, this is a cause worth climbing for. Nosotros Rock Climbing Gym is a nonprofit organization that gives back to underserved communities. They currently have two locations in Lakewood and Downtown Cleveland.

Founder Peter Stancato grew up in Parma and was a social worker for four years in Downtown Cleveland with many of his clients in Lakewood. With the goal of helping children with divorced parents, he wanted to give an activity that families could participate in together. In addition, he also wanted to help serve the community of young adults, specifically the ones struggling with addiction, depression, and anxiety.

At Nosotros, they are looking to help by giving their time, money, and services. Employees try to create the best experience for people by getting to know them and asking genuine questions. Nosotros is constantly donating climbing rentals and giving profits to individuals, families, and organizations. One organization they have been working with recently is The Gathering Place. Their mission is to support, educate, and empower those coping with the impact of cancer, a cause close to Peter’s heart. You can see the extensive list of those helped by Nosotros on their webpage under Mission.

Nosotros has three goals engraved on its front desk: learn names, ask questions, and introduce people. They care about the individuals in the community and are always looking to help people. Everyone belongs at this gym, and they make it their goal for people to feel that.

Nosotros, meaning we received its name because people matter. It is a reminder to Peter to be home with his family at 5:30 for dinner. With a passion so fierce as his, it is easy to get wrapped up in work, however, he remains committed to balancing both Nosotros’s cause and his home life.

As one of only four nonprofit rock gyms on Earth, Nosotros is focused on success. They have adopted four principles from the Air Force to achieve their goals: physical, intellectual, social, and faithful. Climbing is rehabilitative, treats depression, and helps build communities.

There are endless memberships to make sure you are getting the best fit for your needs. Including a day pass, a monthly pass, family memberships, a 24/7 membership, and many more. The gym has a weight room, a Kilterboard, and of course endless rock-climbing routes. They also have special events, climbing lessons, private and group climbing classes, and yoga classes available. You can rent the gym for a birthday, social, and corporate events.

Nosotros’s employee health program is a unique opportunity that gives employers the chance to make a significant impact on their employee’s daily well-being. With no contracts or commitment required the employer can cover the monthly or yearly membership cost boosting productivity and mental wellness significantly.

The Breakthrough Campaign

The Breakthrough Campaign has launched and for every membership that a business buys their staff, Nosotros will donate a membership to a Breakthrough Public Schools student on your behalf. Breakthrough Public Schools is one of the highest-performing networks of free, public charter schools in Ohio. A membership gives staff & students full access to climbing, weight rooms, programs, and guest passes at Nosotros Lakewood and Cleveland. Through a climbing membership, a company can build attraction, retention, and motivation. Climbing is a great way to relieve stress and anxiety, build muscle, and meet new people. When you join this campaign not only are you improving your employees’ lives but also the lives of Breakthrough students. Click below to learn more about The Breakthrough Campaign.
