Small Business Spotlight: Bistro At North Point

Brand new to Downtown is Bistro at North Point! This eatery is only 6 weeks old and is a hidden gem down by the lake. With a focus on freshness, all their dishes start from scratch in their kitchen. That’s right everything from salad dressings to muffins are made in-house.

Owner and Operator Chas Von Duhn is Cleveland born and raised. In the past he worked for a catering company that often served Downtown businesses opening his eyes to the opportunity in Cleveland’s core. Although he went to the University of Cincinnati for engineering, he was passionate about the restaurant industry. He worked for some busier chain restaurants here in Cleveland before traveling the country as a chef doing major sporting and entertainment events for ten years until COVID-19 hit shutting much of the food industry down. Through a friend, Chas heard that the café space in North Point was available. It sat empty for over a year and a half during the pandemic until Bistro at North Point came in a brought the space to life again!

With their lean, dedicated team of 10, they have a passion for food and outstanding customer service. Team member Manny made this clear after his second day at the Bistro, he went home and watched four hours of YouTube videos to master how to make English muffins from scratch. Another team member Nancy, familiar with the café from working there previous to it becoming Bistro at North Point, never forgets a name!

“I’m proud of the team, I’m proud of the way we look, I’m proud of our atmosphere and our food, and that speaks for itself” Chas beamed.

Lunch is made easy here, come in and dine or take it on the go. Although their service is remarkably fast, you can maximize your lunch break with online ordering! Visit their website here to place your order. Choose from their wide menu of burgers, flatbreads, bowls, and salads. Try the best-selling Cuban Sandwich or Chas’s favorites the Bistro Smash Burger or Cajun Pasta. This quick casual restaurant focuses on American foods and is served in an open and inviting atmosphere.

Start your day off right with breakfast at the Bistro! Breakfast is served from 7 am to 10:30 am Monday - Friday. Pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, sausage gravy and biscuits, they have all you could want for breakfast. Pair that delicious made-from-scratch cinnamon roll with a bold beverage. Bistro at North Point sources their coffee from Solstice Roasters and offers a variety of hot, cold, and blended beverages. The blended drinks are an unusual delicious feature of their menu, try ChocoMochaLatte, Cookie and Cream, Caramel Crunch, and More!

They also cater for parties of up to 200! Perfect for any occasion they serve buffet and boxed lunch service and only ask for a 24-hour notice. Some buffet items include the Bistro BBQ, Mac & Cheese Bar, and BYO Fajita Bar.

Chas is excited to see what the future holds for Bistro at North Point, creating your own business is not an easy task, but he finally felt he was at a point in his life where he could take this challenge on. “Life is full of mistakes, but I try to not have any regrets”.
