A Dozen New Can’t-Miss Businesses in Downtown Cleveland

Euclid Avenue is one of downtown Cleveland’s key retail corridors attracting new storefront businesses.

Whether you’re emerging from winter hibernation, returning to the office, or just missed the news before, check out Downtown Cleveland, Inc.’s business round-up of not one, not two, but a DOZEN new businesses to support that have opened within the past several months in our city center!

Recent openings include a doggy daycare, late night eats, theatre district dining, scratch-made pastries, and much more across downtown. Read on to learn about them all!

1) Dogtopia

784 Euclid Avenue (Gateway District)

This ultimate social club for dogs is now open in the heart of downtown Cleveland! Dogtopia of Downtown Cleveland offers dog daycare, boarding, and spa services for its furry, four-legged guests. Certified Canine Coaches ensure all dogs are safe, healthy, and entertained in a social environment while also teaching valuable skills, like how to behave around humans and other dogs. They offer frequent events too!

Be sure to check your pampered pooch into Dogtopia soon. Operating hours are 7am-7pm Monday-Friday, and 9am-5pm Saturday.


2) Dunkin’

1750 Euclid Ave (Campus District)

There’s a new spot downtown to enjoy Dunkin’s signature drinks, coffee, espresso, breakfast sandwiches, donuts, and more! Located near Cleveland State University and Playhouse Square, it’s a convenient place to grab some caffeine and a quick snack from 6am-6pm (and 8am-6pm on Sundays).


3) The Whiskey Bar

2123 E 2nd St (Gateway District)

Downtown’s newest, coziest, and coolest bar is tucked away in the Gateway District! The Whiskey Bar is just off the beaten path but is in the middle of all the action near JACK Cleveland Casino, East 4th Street, and Rocket Arena. Stepping inside, you’re transported into an inviting and intimate urban oasis.

Go for the wide selection of whiskey options and cocktails, and stay for the delicious food, friendly service, and speakeasy ambiance. Whether you’re a whiskey aficionado or have no idea where to start, the knowledgeable staff will walk you through the menu and share tastings, information, and suggestions. Stop by ASAP for a cozy night out after 5pm, Tuesday-Saturday!


4) Bagel Boulevard

1 St Clair Ave NE (Civic Center)

Bagel Boulevard is now open in the Huntington Convention Center and also has street access from St. Clair Ave! This delicious business features fresh baked bagels, each one piled high with your favorite fillings. From classic lox and capers to our chef inspired mouthwatering breakfast and lunch sandwiches, every sandwich is crafted to perfection. Open 6:30am-2:30pm on weekdays, and 7am-12pm on weekends.


5) Emily’s

600 Superior Ave, #2 (Civic Center)

Homemade pastries, flatbreads, sandwiches, and more - all at Emily’s, your new favorite breakfast, coffee, and lunch spot in the heart of downtown!

Emily’s is owned by father-daughter duo, Chris and Emily Sullivan. Everything is made and prepared fresh, with weekly specials and frequent new items in addition to their vast (and delicious) menu. Stop by soon at 600 Superior Ave (accessible both from the street and from the Fifth Third Building lobby) Monday-Friday from 7am-3:30pm!


6) The Friars’ Table

1305 Euclid Ave (Playhouse Square)

The Friars’ Table is downtown Cleveland’s newest restaurant in Playhouse Square! It is a unique collaboration of THREE local nonprofits: Playhouse Square, Edwins Leadership & Restaurant Institute, and Cleveland Capuchin Ministries. A welcoming ambience pairs with a menu of simple yet delicious food and drinks.

There’s no other restaurant quite like it - check out the Friars’ Table for lunch or dinner ASAP! Open Tuesday-Thursday 11am-2pm and 4-10pm, Friday 11am-2pm and 4-11pm, Saturday 4-11pm, and Sunday 3:30-8pm.


7) Lekko Coffee

826 W St Clair Ave (Warehouse District)

The days are cold, but the coffee is hot, especially at Lekko Coffee’s BRAND NEW downtown location! Warm up in the Warehouse District to enjoy Lekko’s 2nd location, following the success of their first shop in Ohio City. This new downtown location features the quality roasting and excellent service that Lekko is known for, in an intimate, light-filled space.

Free dinosaur toys (for kids and kids-at-heart) and dog treats are available, while delicious pour overs, lattes, cappuccinos, and more will satisfy coffee connoisseurs and casual caffeine lovers alike. They’re open daily, 7 days a week from 7am-2pm.


8) Good Pizza

2057 E 4th St (Gateway District)

Good Pizza lives up to its name! All new on E 4th Street, this NY-inspired pizza shop is serving up slices and whole pies that are fresh and delicious. Current ‘Za offerings include Margherita, Pepperoni, Marinara (vegan, no cheese), White, Spicy Vodka, and Fig Bacon. Stop by and see for yourself just how GOOD it is! Open Wednesday-Thursday 11am-8pm and Friday-Saturday 11am-9pm.


9) Pammy’s

401 Euclid Ave (Gateway District)

Pammy’s, a new ice cream shop inside the historic Arcade, features a variety of incredible flavors loaded with delicious and decadent mix-ins. Each flavor is infused with thick, luscious cakes and desserts from Cleveland’s Slices Bakery and the Peach Cobbler Factory. Step inside this unique “2D” shop with artwork and murals as if you’re stepping inside a sketchbook, and let the incredible desserts jump off the page! Open 11am-7pm every day of the week.


10) Club Room (inside Fidelity Hotel)

1940 E 6th St (Gateway District)

E 6th Street’s historic Fidelity Mortgage Building has been beautifully restored into an elegant, jazz age hotel, featuring the Club Room all-day bar and restaurant. The hotel features 97 boutique suites, local artwork, original architectural details, and thoughtful design elements throughout the century old building.

Club Room is open daily from 7am-11pm, and rooms are now available to book. Check it out soon to dine, drink, and stay at downtown’s coziest new spot!


11) Decades

1163 Front Ave (Flats)

Decades is Cleveland’s new 80s & 90s retro bar & nightclub, located on the East Bank of the Flats! On weekends, the bar features retro dueling pianos from 6:00 - 9:30 PM, and then DJs take over at 10 PM. Don’t miss out on this blast from the past!


12) 4AM Slice

1265 W 9th St (Warehouse District)

After your night out at Decades (or one of downtown’s other fun establishments), head to 4AM Slice, the Warehouse District’s new late-night pizza spot open until (you guessed it) 4AM on the weekends! Whether you're craving a midnight bite or a pie for dinner, they have you covered.
