Shakespeare Festival - "The Learned Ladies"

  • Public Square - Gund Foundation Green 50 Public Square Cleveland, OH, 44113 United States (map)

Shakespeare's "The Learned Ladies" a highly physical and very funny play adapted by Timothy Mooney and performed by the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival.  Bring a blanket and chair to relax on the Public Square lawn on a beautiful summer evening and enjoy this free performance.

Admission is FREE! Lawn chairs & picnic blankets are encouraged. Get there early to grab the best seats.
A little background on the play: THE LEARNED LADIES is short and hilarious romp that sees young Henriette absolutely in love with the handsome Clitandre. Her mother, however, thinks otherwise and wants to see her daughter marry the foppish, twit Trissotin, who panders to pretentious ideals and writes awful poetry (loved by the social elites). Will Henriette be forced to obey her mother, or find the path to her true love? Written in complete iambic pentameter, this delightful translation by Timothy Mooney is filled with love, deceit, flattery, and (above all) laughs!

Directed by Keira McDonald

Wizbang Circus will also bring their juggling and other performance talents as pre-show entertainment.
