DCA Renews North Coast Harbor Maintenance Contract
Cleveland City Council yesterday renewed its contract with Downtown Cleveland Alliance to manage, program, and promote City of Cleveland-owned properties at North Coast Harbor. DCA is a nationally recognized urban place management organization that works from sidewalk to skyline and everything in between, leading efforts to accelerate engagement in Downtown’s environment, economy, and experience.
“Our work in North Coast Harbor strengthens the heart of the city and region, Downtown Cleveland. A vibrant core and active, seamlessly connected waterfronts are central to our vision of Downtown as a welcoming and walkable 15-minute neighborhood,” said Michael Deemer, DCA President & CEO.
DCA has maintained the contract with the City of Cleveland since 2013. DCA’s work in North Coast Harbor includes animating the space through all four seasons with family-friendly programming; assisting with weddings, reunions, and other third-party produced events; marketing the Harbor as a destination; communicating with Harbor institutions and businesses; and securing and maintaining the site with DCA’s signature Downtown Ambassadors. Family-friendly events include North Coast Namaste, Lakefront Leagues, the Cleveland Cocoa Run, and Ice Fest to name a few. DCA also assists with planning, designing, and maintaining public improvements in North Coast Harbor, including a children’s playground that opened in 2020.
