Downtown Employees Give Back

On Tuesday, Downtown employees from the talent solutions firm AMS dedicated their afternoon to beautifying the streets of the Warehouse District as we transition from summer to fall.

The group removed all summer plants from the Warehouse District's planters and gathered the empty planters to be picked up for winter storage and prepped for next year by our growers, Uncle John’s Plant Farm. The team helped tidy and clean up the sidewalks afterward.

Additionally, on West 6th Street, the volunteers had the task of planting new mums in all the planters that remain out along the sidewalks year-round. These additions have added a beautiful autumn splash to the street as we move into the fall season.

We would like to thank AMS for taking time out of their day to help with this effort. Projects such as these wouldn’t be possible without the support of Downtown stakeholders like AMS. These volunteers brought a positive attitude, can-do spirit, and infectious passion for making Cleveland a more welcoming and beautiful place.

DCA welcomes all employers looking to help the downtown area in a volunteer effort. Contact Ian Meadows at imeadows@downtowncleveland.com to receive details. Giving back to the downtown area makes for a great staff outing and is an excellent way to get reconnected to the urban center.

In addition, DCA has just launched our Downtown Green Team, a group dedicated to keeping Downtown’s public spaces well-kept and appealing. Consisting of volunteers, the group assists in various Downtown beautification efforts. This team is an easy way to make a difference, get out of the house, and meet new people, even if you don’t have much free time. Sign up on our website to get more information about upcoming projects and join us for whatever time you can spare.
